Welcoming the New U.S. Ambassador to Panama

At the recent Navy League Panama event aboard the U.S. Coast Guard training ship Eagle, our members had the pleasure of meeting the new U.S. Ambassador to Panama, Kevin Marino Cabrera. A bilingual and approachable young diplomat, Ambassador Cabrera impressed everyone with his warmth, informality, and clear enthusiasm for his mission in Panama.

Appointed in April 2025, Ambassador Cabrera is dedicated to strengthening U.S.–Panama relations through regional security, economic growth, and closer cooperation. His career has spanned public service, trade, and international development, including his time as Miami-Dade County Commissioner and Vice Chair of the International Trade Consortium, where he built connections with global partners.

Born in Miami to Cuban exile parents, Cabrera’s background has instilled in him a strong belief in freedom, opportunity, and the promise of the American Dream. With his experience, energy, and personal connection to Latin America, he brings a fresh perspective to the role and has already shown a willingness to engage openly with the Panama community.

The Navy League Panama looks forward to working with Ambassador Cabrera and supporting the enduring partnership between Panama and the United States.
