A Triumphant Relaunch of Our Monthly Dinners
We are proud to share that our much-loved monthly dinner tradition has officially returned — and what a memorable evening it was!
On Tuesday, 7th October 2025, members of the Navy League Panama gathered once again at the elegant InterContinental Miramar Hotel to celebrate the relaunch of our monthly dinners with guest speakers — a hallmark of fellowship, friendship, and maritime spirit.
The evening featured a delicious three-course menu, including a lentil cappuccino with bacon, chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms and Parmesan in fresh tomato sauce, sautéed vegetables, pilaf rice with cashew nuts, and a rum crème brûlée for dessert — all accompanied by fine wine, coffee, and tea service.
An Inspiring Talk from a Falklands War Veteran
Our guest speaker — and newly appointed President — Lieutenant Commander Stephen Harrison-Thomas, PhD DSC, Royal Navy (Retired), captivated the audience with a fascinating and humorous presentation on the Falklands War, drawn from his personal experiences as a young Sea Harrier pilot aboard HMS Invincible.
He spoke vividly about his three air-to-air combat victories, daily life aboard the carrier, and the lighter side of naval service — including the unforgettable moment when the crew received beef marked “Product of Argentina.” His reflections offered not only a gripping glimpse into naval history but also a reminder of the courage, camaraderie, and resilience that define life at sea.
A Night of Fellowship and Renewal
The evening was filled with laughter, learning, and lively discussion. Members old and new enjoyed reconnecting and welcoming new faces, while celebrating the Navy League’s renewed commitment to bringing our community together through regular events.
This successful relaunch marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Navy League Panama. Future dinners will continue this proud tradition — combining fine food, good company, and distinguished speakers who embody the spirit of service and adventure that unites us all.
Stay tuned for announcements about our next dinner event — and be sure to join us in keeping this vibrant tradition alive!
